Exclusive: Stenhouse Canceled!
An insider at The Rhode Island Wave (formally The Rhode Island Echo) stated that Mike Stenhouse has written his last opinion piece. The barely known publication cancelled Mike Stenhouse’s monthly column rendering the only meaningful part of the rag defunct, and proving once again that the Establishment media in Rhode Island does not work for you.
According to our source, current leadership at the paper took issue with Stenhouse’s February opinion piece that challenged the Democrats’ narrative on the resignation of Rhode Island’s Department of Health Director Nicole Alexander-Scott.
Alexander-Scott is well known for her sophomoric response to Covid-19 in which she simply repeats Big-Pharma talking points. She ignored the prioritization of resources that would have protected the vulnerable, specifically the elderly population of Rhode Island. In fact, Alexander-Scott’s decisions directly led to excessive deaths which was conveniently used as a rationalization for the continuing rule by executive order that STILL EXISTS TODAY.
Never underestimate what political figures will do to take and keep power.
Stenhouse was measured in his response in his opinion piece. He avoided the more emotionally charged and factual issues with regard to how Alexander-Scott approached the COVID response such as withholding millions for personal protective equipment (PPE) while simultaneously forcing sick and contagious elderly back into nursing homes to infect and kill others. He also avoided the serious topic of the massive spike in suicides that persist today due to the hysteria Alexander-Scott championed, and Democrats continue to push today.
Stenhouse instead cited the fact that Alexander-Scott’s COVID response was so unbalanced it ignored the psychological impact on teenagers and adults that rely on the connectedness they could not find during lockdowns and the economic impacts that devastated families and businesses. He also cites the untold deaths from the lack of preventative care caused by Alexander-Scott’s blind adherence to the Establishment narrative.
The reality is that Alexander-Scott’s tenure was an abject failure. Stenhouse was right to call her out. The Rhode Island Wave leadership demonstrated that they are simply a mouthpiece for the Establishment narrative they want you programmed to receive. So goes the institution of journalism, and underscores the necessity of the Rhody Report effort.
Mike Stenhouse has alternate channels to get his message out, including his online “In the Dugout” video cast on the Ocean State Current. In full disclosure, we are thrilled that he uses our headlines at the bottom of his show. He was kind enough to ask for our permission. The volunteers of the Rhody Report admire Stenhouse for his persistent championing of the issues that affect the citizens of Rhode Island and would gladly host all opinion pieces written by him going forward.
