The ruling party here and on the federal level completely own this tragedy of runaway inflation and ridiculously high energy prices. All too many people buy their green energy and climate-change bullshit.
100% correct Michael. RhodeMapRI (now RIRising) is Rhode Island’s “economic development plan” which is a bit of a joke seeing it is 100% the opposite. It justifies taxpayer subsidized housing in every “neighborhood”, i.e. census tract for which EVERY town has at last 4, and for example Cumberland alone has SIX, totally based on racist criteria and predicated on “saving the environment.”
It starts by claiming single family homes are “sprawl” (their word) and therefore not good for the environment, more high density housing is needed. An if your town doesn’t statistically match the percentage of different identity groups in relation to their percentages nationally, your town has cause a “disparate impact” on those groups, i.e., your a bunch of racists who won’t let them live there. And, before you ask, even if your laws do not state these people are not allowed and treats everyone equally under the law regardless of identity, yes, you’re still a bunch of racists.
For example, if your neighborhood (census tract) only has a 2% Latino population, well, your town must be comprised of racists. So to “solve” the problem, you are required to build high density housing in your neighborhood that subsidizes people who fit the identity so they can afford to live there. They use the same services, trash, schools, and so on, but they pay about 20% of the property taxes and you pay the other 80%.
The plan is true institutionalized racism on its face because it assumes people of certain identities can’t earn a home in your neighborhood, so therefore it is incumbent upon those who live there now to make it happen.
It’s time towns give these totalitarian thugs the middle finger and say no. Yes, they will lose some state money but the loss of revenue doesn’t equal the cost of additional police, road maintenance, and most of all the added public school costs. The fight can be won at the local level.

Bullshit, exactly. Racist bullshit to be exact.
