| We need 1,000 people to hand in written testimony opposing the changes proposed by Senate bills S 516 and S 569 by Thursday, March 18, 2021. Written testimony must be in by 2 pm Thursday, March 18th, 2021 These comprehensive election law changes will affect everything from: – Voter Registration – Mail Ballots – Which will require no witnesses or notary verification and includes a subjective signature verification process – Early Voting – A 20 day early voting window will put an undue burden on local cities and towns and will move the Rhode Island primary to August. – Removes 30 day residency requirement, allowing new residents to vote and opening the door for fraud. – Does not address ballot harvesting Written testimony can be submitted by emailing: jpbaxter@rilegislature.gov *Written testimony must be submitted prior to 2PM on Thursday, March 18, 2021 in order for it to be provided to the members of the committee at the hearing and to be included in the meeting records. Members of the public can request to provide verbal testimony to the committee here. *Requests to provide verbal testimony must be submitted by 4pm on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 |
